Healthy Students Perform Better.

The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is reimagining and transforming the way California supports children, youth and families.

Schools everywhere are faced with budget cuts and questions regarding sustainability. By making essential healthcare services both equitable and accessible through innovative technology, we can work together to help our students strive for improved academic performance.

The Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) is reimagining and transforming the way California supports children, youth and families. By centering the needs of young people and uniting the efforts of the California Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and organizations that serve them, this statewide sustainability initiative takes a “whole child approach” to ensure kids and families can find support for their emotional, mental and behavioral health needs, when, where and in the way they need it most.

Did You Know California Local Education Agencies (LEAs) Can Now Bill Insurance Plans?

Healthy Campus operationalizes the CYBHI Fee Schedule.

State law requires insurance plans to reimburse school-linked healthcare providers according to set rates for services provided to students (beyond Medi-Cal), regardless of their network status. The services covered under the fee schedule are not subject to copays, coinsurance, deductibles, or any other costs. This fee for reimbursement model ensures schools receive a sustainable revenue source while improving student’s overall well-being. Implementing this program requires complex coordination between parents, students, school staff, healthcare providers, and insurance plans, which creates a significant administrative burden, which Healthy Campus solutions alleviate.
